Creating a Supplement Application

Accessing Instructions for Assigning a Permit

Time Extension

Change in Work

Name Change

Fee Change (for PennDOT only)

There are four types of supplement applications that can be created in EPS:

·        Time Extension (permits only)

·        Change in Work (permits and licenses)

·        Permittee Name Change (permits and licenses) (only PennDOT can create a Name Change Supplement)

·        Fee Change (permits only) (only PennDOT can create a Fee Change Supplement)

If you are not sure if you need to apply for a supplement to an issued permit OR create a new permit application, please contact your District Permit Office.

A supplement application can be created for a permit (including minimum use driveway type) if the permit adheres to the following requirements:

·        It must have a status of Issued.

·        It is not closed out (there is no closed-out date entered on the permit application).

·        It does not have an expiration date more than 30 days passed (applies only to Utility and Miscellaneous permits).

·        It does not have an in process supplement of the same type. For example, there cannot be more than one time extension supplement in process for the same permit. However, once that time extension supplement is issued (or denied or withdrawn or deemed not necessary), then another time extension supplement can be created for that same permit.

NOTE: Bridge Occupancy Licenses can have only a single supplement (Change in Work, or Permittee Name) in process at any time.

To create a supplement to a permit, you must first be able to access the permit application in EPS. You can do so via the search functionality on the Applications Portal screen.

If the permit number is known:

1.      Log into ePermitting. The ePermitting Applications Portal screen appears.

2.      Enter either the original permit application number or the permit number and click GO. If you entered the permit application number, the Application Information screen appears. If you entered the permit number, the Permit screen appears. On either screen, if the accessed permit adheres to the above list of requirements, the Create Supplements button should be available.

If the permit number is not known:

1.      Log into ePermitting. The ePermitting Applications Portal screen appears.

2.      Click search for the permit type or license. The appropriate Search criteria screen displays.

3.      Enter or select search criteria to locate the original permit or license application.

4.      Click the Search button. The Application Search Results screen displays.

5.      Click the Application ID for the desired application. The Application Information screen displays. If the accessed permit adheres to the above list of requirements, the Create Supplements button should be available.
