Applying for an Emergency Permit
The Create Application screen enables applicants and agents to create new permit applications. The fields can be updated by the applicant and assigned co-applicants or engineering firms until the application is submitted.
Application types:
· Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) Create New Application (Agent for Applicant, Applicant, PennDOT on behalf of Applicant or Receiver on behalf of Applicant)
· Emergency Permit Application (Receiver on behalf of Applicant)
· Traffic Signal Permit (TSP) Create New Application (Agent for Applicant, Applicant, PennDOT on behalf of Applicant or Receiver on behalf of Applicant)
· Bridge Occupancy License (BOL) Application (Applicant, Applicant/Business Partner, Agent for Applicant, or Receiver on behalf of Applicant
Only applicants, agents and receivers can create a new application and assign co-applicants or engineering firms. An applicant cannot be registered as a co-applicant or engineering firm on the same application. A co-applicant cannot be registered as an applicant or engineering firm on the same application.
Co-applicants can assign engineering firms but cannot assign other co-applicants. Engineering firms cannot assign co-applicants or other engineering firms.
Applicants complete the general application information, including the applicant's name, address, phone and e-mail, plus a reference to a paper application, when applicable.
Responders complete the details information, including district, county, municipality, permit type and utility type.
Only PennDOT Responders can update Permit fields. Currently the Permit Group is assigned as HOP or TSP. Additional permit groups will be available for assignment in the future.
The phrase Until Submit means until the application is submitted.
The Permit Group designation is HOP for Highway Occupancy permits and emergency applications, TSP for Traffic Signal permits, and BOL for Bridge Occupancy licenses.
NOTE: The same application cannot be used for both a utility and a driveway.
NOTE: When a Permit Sub-Type is selected, the Application Details section of the screen expands to include a Permit Use field. When a Permit Use is selected, the screen expands to include a Permit Sub-Use field (fields are pre-filled for illustration purposes).
