Creating an Application

Business Partner Applicants and PennDOT Receivers can submit Emergency Applications for HOP utility permits.

Note:  Emergency Applications can be a Permit Type of ‘Utility’ only.

 To create an emergency permit application:

1.      Log in to EPS.

2.      From the green tool bar, select Emergency >Create Emergency Application. The Create Emergency Application page displays.

3.      If the company has a Business Partner ID (BPID), click the looking glass icon to select it and pre-fill the contact information fields. Otherwise, you will have to enter the information.

4.      Enter State Route (Based on county)

5.      Enter Segment (if known)

6.      Enter Offset (if known)

7.      Select a Work Status

·        If the work has already been completed, select a Work Status of Complete and enter the Date work was completed.

·        If the work is currently ongoing, select a Work Status of Pending and identify  the current Road Status During Repair.

8.      Provide as detailed a Description as possible.

9.      Click Save & Exit. If the Work Status is Pending, the individuals on your district-specific list of contacts are be notified. The Emergency Application Information page displays.

You (or the Applicant, if there is a BPID) can continue to work on this application now, or later.  The application must be submitted by you or the Applicant within 15 days. Reminder e-mail notifications are sent to the e-mail address provided on the application.
