Release Notes for EPS 7.0 and 8.0 July 2014
An updated version of ePermitting is now active. This update includes the following functionality:
Bridge Occupancy License (BOL)
Some fields for the Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) application in EPS will remain for a BOL application, while other fields will be modified, removed, or added. Regardless, the basic application process remains in that an Applicant, an Agent for the applicant, or a PennDOT Receiver on behalf of an Applicant will be able to create a new BOL application.
In addition, the ability to invoice Licensees for both the initial costs (Issuance, Inspection, and Accommodation) as well as for the Annual Rental Fee costs is now available in EPS. BOL applicants can submit an application with or without a CIMS Billing Account. However, licenses will not be issued until there is a billing account identified in the EPS application. All Annual Rental Fee costs will be invoiced to the selected billing account.
Assignment
An authorized PennDOT user is able to assign a permit (in Closed status) to new permittee(s) in EPS.
Cancellation
An authorized PennDOT user is able to cancel a permit or license (in Issued status, including Under Inspection) in EPS.
Revocation
An authorized PennDOT user is able to revoke a permit or license (in Issued, Under Inspection or Closed status) in EPS.
Minimum Use Driveway (MUD) - No Plans
Some fields for the HOP application in EPS will remain for a MUD application, while other fields will be modified, removed, or added. Regardless, the basic application process remains in that an Applicant, an Agent for the applicant, or a PennDOT Receiver on behalf of an Applicant will be able to create a new BOL application.
In addition, EPS provides an applicant with the capability to create generic plans (as in the M-950A paper form) via an online form.
Other Functionality Improvements
EPS users may see other differences in EPS with Releases 7.0 & 8.0. Following is a list of additional improvements:
Response Letter PDF - responses to applications (and supplements) have been changed to a PDF document. This document is viewable via the Response Letter link, and is also attached to the email notification to the applicant team when the response is posted (which allows applicants who do not have a valid EPS User ID and Password to view the response). Any Response Comments are also included with the Response Letter.
History Conversion - information for Permits (and Licenses) that were created in/issued from systems used before EPS has been imported into EPS. The historic permit/license information will now be included in the results for searches (Quick or Advanced). Authorized PennDOT users will also be able to add, update, or remove Attachments and Application Notes, as well as Assign or Revoke the records.
