Reopen Closed Permits

Permit Screen

Only a PennDOT user with the Data Corrector role can reopen previously closed or expired  permits. If the Permit Closeout Date is within allowable days (30 days) a Reopen button is available on the menu bar.

When a closed or expired permit is reopened:

·        The permit status returns to pre-close status.

·        Closeout information is removed (Closeout Date, Closeout Type, Closed By, Closeout Comments, Ready for Closeout Notification Date, and Closeout Documents).

·        Previously active permit supplements are reopened (previously withdrawn supplements are not reopened).

·        Event Type 'Reopened' is logged as an Application Work Flow Event for both application and supplement.

To reopen previously closed permits:

1.      Open the application for the closed permit. The Application Information screen displays.

2.      Click the Closed Permit link in the Permit section. The Permit screen displays.

3.      Click the Reopen button. A confirmation message popup displays.

4.      Click the Yes button on the popup. The permit status returns to the pre-close status.
